Application Solutions Service Line

As part of the Technology Services Organisation, the Applications Solutions team
provides specialist product consultancy as well as end-to-end delivery of overall
solutions for Enterprise customers and partners, System Integrators and hosting companies.
The goal of the group is to help these organisations achieve business and technical
innovation with Technology technologies and help them mitigate the risks associated
with these projects.Person

An exceptional senior opportunity has arisen within The Technology Corporation
here in the UK Heading up their Application Solutions Service Line. This sits within
MCS, Technology Consulting Services and is leading a team of over 90 direct reports.

You will be a born Technology leader with an exceptional track record of leadership
within a Tier One Technology Consulting organisation or a leading global System
Integrators.

Role

The Applications Solution Practice Manager provides leadership and direction to the
group delivering solutions and providing consultancy in Information Worker and
Applications Development on the Technology Platform. The Practice Manager must
ensure the day to day delivery of the activities of the group whilst growing the
groups capability and capacity inline with the strategic direction of Technology Services.

Responsible for managing all Service Programme Managers, Professional Development
Resource Managers and other approved staff within the group (in the region of 80 staff).
The position is measured on Customer Satisfaction, Service Line Contribution Margin (CM),
Product Impact and Business Key Accountabilities

Working seamlessly with delivery and vertical sales to ensure opportunities are closed,
engagements are well scoped, executed and achieve market impact. The overall goal is
to drive customer and partner satisfaction whilst at the same time meeting service line
fiscal responsibilities.

Responsible for managing Engagement Managers. Is indirectly responsible for the
overall delivery staff for the service line (around 90 staff). Responsible for
employee satisfaction for Technology and Partner staff within his/her Service Line.

Staff a high performing leadership team within the Service Line
Enable a strong and productive workforce which enables predictable and sustainable
delivery capability.

Relationships

Works with vertical sector staff and account managers in the subsidiary to close
services opportunities; actively understands his/her most significant engagements
throughout the industry and is adding value as mentor and coach, whilst strengthening
the accountability and empowerment; works closely with Sales & Marketing to drive the
adoption of the Technology platform for business critical enterprise computing.Strategy

The SLPM is responsible for interpreting the World Wide services strategy, local
market requirements and implementing a service plan. The SLPM may be required to
support specific corporate initiatives as well as supporting the local market objectives
to leverage the experience and talent in the practice; Works with Resource Managers and
other individuals to forecast resources- skills and demand; Ensures IP is both developed,
harvested and re-used with the service lineFiscal responsibilities
Must have solid business skills to effectively run an efficient business unit
(with or without a formal P&L); PM is responsible for the overall financial attainment
for the service line as measured in the Management P&L and monitored related metrics
(below). Exceptions and forecasting business trends and the impact to the budget in
a timely manner.

Essential Experience
Minimum 7-10 years of experience combining relevant work in technology leadership &
strategic planning, financial planning for professional services, and consulting.

Strong commercial acumen, with customer & partner experience and orientation required
along with a high aptitude for software industry solutions.

Significant experience in sales/marketing activities with team Management experience.
Strong rounded commercial acumen with P&L experience desirable

Strong experience of leading multi-functional teams in complex engagement situations
Senior delivery skills in order to coach Engagement Managers to successfully
deliver contractual commitments and maintain high Customer satisfactionDesirable Skills

Experience within professional services in both sales and delivery of Technology
Technology Solutions

Qualifications

Bachelors degree or equivalent
