My client produces high profile sites for global commercial companies and requires a highly motivated, experienced .NET developer. The in-house CMS provides the opportunity to expand your current .NET skills into ASP.NET 3.5 in real world solutions that interact with Flash applications, web services, social networks and third-party systems.
You will need to have some experience of commercial web application development in the .NET Framework environment using n-tier application architecture, ideally with a publishing or digital media background, be committed to writing concise and re-usable code within project deadlines and know that process, standards, detail and flexibility are critical for successful applications. Full project life-cycle experience, including providing input and feedback to functional and technical specs. would be a significant advantage, as would the ability to work independently as well as within a team.
Your core skills must include:
- ASP.NET 2.0 C# (not VB.NET)
- MS SQL Server 2000 & 2005
- Visual Studio 2008
- JavaScript
- AJAX, XHTML & CSS 2.0
- XML
- n-Tier application architecture
You should have a complete understanding of:
- OOP (Object-Orientated Programming)
- .NET Master and Nested Master Pages
- .NET server controls
- RSS & Web Services
Your duties and responsibilities include:
- maintaining existing projects
- creating new sites utilising the CMS (incl. writing server controls and windows services)
- enhancing the functionality of the CMS (writing new modules, enhancing existing ones)
- ensuring all projects meet the functional specification requirements
- documenting all your code and updating each project wiki
- clear communication with team lead and other discipline teams
Desirable additional skills:
- Telerik RADControls development experience
- MS IIS 6.0 configuration
- SubVersion experience (Visual SVN, Tortoise)
- ASP.NET 3.5 C#
- Understanding or agile dev. methodologies, SOA & SaaS
