The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the fluids strategy and activities within the context of the overall drilling programme. You must take care to ensure that safety and commercial performance are optimised. You will also form key responsibilities of this new role within the Well Construction and Maintenance Department. You will also be accountable for ensuring compliance of fluids activities within operational and environmental standards ensuring the optimisation of fluids in order to facilitate the best possible well operations performance.

Planning and organising the activities of the fluids group will require you to take responsibility for the fluids budget and to act as focal point for fluids related issues within the company and also external bodies i.e. BERR, HSE, etc. You will also ensure conformance of fluid group practices with internal and external rules and regulations, prepare and execute fluids related programmes to promote safe and successful drilling operations and identify, organise and manage fluids related technical studies.

As the successful candidate you should have:

  • A good working knowledge of external rules, standards and procedures in the fluids and environmental areas
