My client is a global engineering consultancy and a market leader within the rail industry. Being at the fore-front of signalling design both in the UK and internationally they always have a number exciting opportunities for individuals to work abroad. Due to the consistent demand in their international projects, I have some excellent opportunities for competent signalling designers to work overseas on some of the world's most exciting rail projects in countries such as Sweden, South Africa, Abu-Dhabi, Australia and many other locations all over the world
Working within a team, you'll deliver a range of rail signalling projects. It's a key challenge that will involve ensuring that relevant procedures, standards, controls and best practices are correctly implemented. You'll also provide day-to-day support for staff and take responsibility for approving work.
The Role:
Design and integration of signalling systems for new construction and upgrade lines.
Verification of signalling design work for international projects, some of which are based in London and other countries around the world.
Preparation and check of detailed Signalling Scheme Plans.
Design and checking of Signalling Circuits in accordance with current and client signalling practice.
Conceptual signalling design for new stations and line work.
Produce and check Signalling Control Tables.
Preparation and check of processor based interlocking application data reflecting current and client signalling practice.
Acting as an independent checker of signalling circuits plans and application data prepared by others.
Participate and act as Senior/Principal Signalling Design Engineer and have regular liaison with satellite offices throughout the world.
The Requirement:
You will ideally hold relevant IRSE signalling licenses as you will be responsible for approving day-to-day work.
Experience within the railway industry is a MUST.
Strong people management skills.
Knowledge of installation and testing practices.
Ability to interpret high-level design specifications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with people at all levels.
Experience of signaling design checking.
