Leading Global Oil Company urgently seeks a highly skilled deep water drilling advisor to join their team located in Copenhagen Denmark. This company operates in some of the world's most recognised deep water environments including the Gulf of Mexico, Brazil and Angola. Due to an increase in activity in these zones they seek a professional with demonstrable experience of planning and executing drilling operations in deep water environments.

As the successful candidate you will join a small team of drilling engineers and engage on simultaneous projects in both the planning and execution stage. Your remit will be to provide expertise for the detailed planning of wells and follow this up with technical support during the execution of exploration and appraisal wells in deep water plays.

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Support operated deep water drilling and completion operations on a global basis.

  • Ensure operations are conducted in a safe, environmentally friendly manner.

  • Manage costs for the operations.

  • Provide support to affiliates for non-operated deep water wells.

  • Liaise between departments to ensure the best available information is available at all times.

  • Maintain open communications with onsite drilling managers and general managers in deep water drilling areas.

  • Advise deep water drilling engineers in the team on best practice and supervise their training.

  • Ensure end of well reports are prepared on each well and that lessons learned are incorporated into future programmes.

  • Ensure equipment is procured on time and on budget to the correct specifications.

  • Assist the company in developing deep water drilling and completion expertise.


Suitable candidates will have demonstrable experience working on deep water campaigns preferably in Brazil, Angola or the GoM. They should have experience in a superintendent position where they have worked closely with offshore operations co-coordinating rig teams in a deep water environment. Candidates should have a relevant engineering degree at BSc level with an MSc preferred, written and spoken English language skills are a prerequisite for the position.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Provide HSEQ advice to the management team and all staff.

  • Develop and monitor plans to meet HSEQ policy/standard requirements.

  • Liaise with E&P HSEQ department.

  • Organise the HSEQ Committee

  • Oversee the implementation of the care reporting system

Leading independent oil company urgently seek a highly skilled senior drilling engineer to join their growing Aberdeen office. This leading company operate some of the North Sea's most well known assets and have an extensive drilling campaigned planned through out 2010.
As the successful candidate you will join the drilling and well operations team co-ordinating all drilling and completion and workover activities. Your remit will include well design, engineering, procurement and execution for the effective and safe drilling, completion and workover of all mobile drilled wells.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Utilise the company's well delivery process to create the basis for design mobile rig drilled wells.

  • Develop cost estimates for each stage of the well delivery process for budget and AFE purposes.

  • Develop detailed well design, engineering, procurement for drilling, completion and work over scopes for long lead items.

  • Coordinate the completion designs and order completion equiptment.

  • Prepare monthly reports.

  • Coordinate end of well reports and capture lessons learned.


Ideal candidates will have an engineering degree in a relevant discipline and have experience in both onshore and offshore engineering and ideally have exposure in a drilling supervisor position. Familiarity with drilling softwares such as Stresscheck, EDM and Compass is essential all though exposure to other drilling packages will be sufficient. Experience with exploration and appraisal drilling especially in area's near mature assets.

Reporting to the Rig Manager candidates will be responsible for establishing procedures to meet HSEQ parameters, analysing data and reporting on trends and lessons learned to managers. This must then be followed up to ensure action is taken to avoid repeat accidents.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Create effective emergency response plans for both the company, the clients and local and state authorities.

  • Identify and report trends for accidents and present a case for prevention.

Ideal candidates will have demonstrable experience in the offshore drilling industry with proven exposure in the safety and quality functions of a leading operator or contractor. Successful candidates will report in to the company's Drilling and Well Engineering manager and take responsibility for the preperation, planning, execution and follow up of all drilling and wells completion operations. They will have a broad role across the company's Norwegian Continental Shelf operations and advise and support drilling engineers and superintendents where required. Candidates will take responsibility for supervising offshore completions operations (as required) and take responsibility for selecting well completion technologies, equipment and processes for both operated and non operated projects.

Ideal candidates will be at Senior Completions Engineer level and have demonstrable experience in theoretical and practical experience in this field. They should have a strong knowledge of the methadologies required for well completion design and be able to demonstrate practical experience from past projects. Candidates should already have a BSc in an engineering discipline with an MSc highly desireable, Spoken English language skills are essential and a knowledge of Norwegian seen as an advantage.

Candidates must have prior experience working in completions on the Norwegian Continental Shelf and must have a work permit already in place.

This company have performed well through out the financial troubles of 2008-2009 and are preparing to run a large scale drilling campaign over the next couple of years. To ensure the success of this campaign this company has identified the hire of a drilling engineer as a priority and are now urgently looking for a candidate with a good knowledge of the Norwegian Drilling industry.

As the successful candidate you will report into the company's drilling manager and be responsible for coordinating all drilling work related to well design, engineering, procurement and execution for the effective and safe drilling of the project's jack-up drilled wells.

Key activities will include:
  • Work closely with the subsurface and geoscience departments to develop the basis for the design of all Jack-up drilled wells in the Norwegian North Sea.

  • Develop cost estimates for wells at each stage of the delivery process for budget and AFE purposes.

  • Develop the detailed well design, engineering, procurement work scopes including long lead items as appopriate.

  • Ensure the availability of the necessary statutory and regulatory consents and approvals in a timely manner for drilling of all jack-up rigs.

  • Liaise with rig teams during drilling operations to ensure smooth running.

  • Interface with all members of the subsurface teams, operations and subsea teams to ensure smooth execution of work scopes.

  • Coordinate preparation of simops procedures where appropriate.

  • Ensure compliance with Management of change procedure.

  • Coordinate end of well reports, capturing lessons learnt and closing out all equipment reconcilliation, cost reporting and invoicing.

  • Work in compliance with the company's business management system.

  • Active participation, promotion and development of the company safety and environment policies.


Candidates must have a strong knowledge of the Norwegian legislation for offshore drilling and ideally have experience working with Jack-up rigs in the Norwegian North Sea. Candidates should have a knowledge of the full well delivery process from engineering design to close out and be capable of working with minimal supervision. A relevent degree in an engineering discipline and a valid permit to work.
