Head of Marketing

This Head of Marketing role is for one of the worlds most influential Science Technology and Medical Publishing groups, and with continuous success and growth both on a national and international scales - the need for a Head of Marketing is imperative for the organisation to continue its development and for the implementation of the group brand strategy.

The role extends across the whole organisation and the role holder has to have a detailed understanding of how the business works, knowledge of the overall Group strategy and the specific strategic goals and challenges for all of the publishing divisions in order that appropriate marketing strategies and plans can be created, developed and implemented.
Reporting into the Marketing and Customer Service Director, the successful incumbent of this role will have 6 direct reports and 9 indirect reports, highlighting the necessity for a strong leader.

You will be charged in managing and developing the marketing function at corporate and product level defining an overall strategy in consultation with the Marketing and Customer Services Director and ensuring its effective delivery. This role needs to ensure that the marketing function works as efficiently as possible, taking maximum advantage of new technologies and intelligence on markets, customers and competitors.

This role is responsible for maximising the revenue lines through creative and effective market strategic planning and implementation.

At least 5 years operating at a senior marketing management level within a STM publishing environment.
Degree/CIM Diploma
Highly developed strategic marketing skills
Proven experience of managing, motivating, training and developing marketing teams.
Proven digital marketing expertise
Input into product development
Creating business models
Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to influence and motivate
Experience in brand development and management
Commercial experience
