Our client is one of the UKs largest food organisations producing chilled/fresh, ambient and frozen food under both brand and own label for the major multiples. They require a senior Commercial Manager whose primary focus will be to develop their premium end chilled food business across a number of categories with one of the UK's major grocery multiples.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- To establish / deliver a robust business plan for these specific categories that delivers the commercial objectives for the business
- To manage the commercial function to deliver sales and promotional targets
- To maintain and further develop the companys position as preferred supplier within these specific high-end chilled categories.
- To develop beneficial long term relationships with key trade contacts
- To work with NPD / operational and technical teams to ensure delivery of agreed development program.
- To manage turnover and margin delivery within agreed budgets.
- To monitor and forecast demand and investment within targeted accuracy objectives.
Knowledge & Specific Job Skills
- Extensive commercial experience with evidence of developed skills including category management, price negotiation and retailer premium brand management.
- Demonstrable achievement in managing and developing business in excess of £75m.
- An appreciation of the value of retailer brand equity.
- A passion for food
- Excellent numeric skills with the ability to analyse and interpret a wide range of sales, market and category data.
- Strong relationship builder, capable of working cross functionally at all levels.
- Excellent planning, organisation and prioritisation skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proven ability to influence / motivate teams to deliver complex projects against tight deadlines.
- Good category knowledge and awareness.
