Our client is a household name media owner with an impressive list of online companies in their portfolio as well as traditional media businesses. Embracing digital wholeheartedly they are often referred to as being at the forefront of the transition from traditional to new media. For one of their best known products they seek a Digital Manager/ Head of Online who can manage the business from both a technical and commercial perspective.
The successful candidate will be offered considerable support if required in the strategic direction of the product but will be allowed the autonomy to steer the day to day running of the business and will be accountable, ultimately, for its continuing success. They will be responsible for monetising the content through creative advertising campaigns and partnerships and could be said to be a Digital Publisher of the site.
My client will consider applicants from either a technical or commercial background, provided that they have an appreciation of the other as a support mechanism will be in place to assist with whichever area the successful candidate needs support in. Because of the growth the organisation is experiencing, the opportunities are endless and this role could very quickly mature into a Digital Director position managing multiple products.
